STANDING COMMITTEES OF THE VESTRY - 2011
Budget and Finance
Oversight of finances, insurance and investments of St. Mark's.
Chairs: Wardens - Jennifer Marwood - Jean Scopinich Treasurer: Nancy Connett, Barbara Pettus, Bill Lankenau, Pamela Sheiffer, Fr. Ron Wickey
Prepare annual budget and submit it to Vestry for approval at the December Vestry Meeting. Appoint and oversee sub committees on: Insurance and Investments.
Subcommittees: Insurance Chair: Nancy Connett
Review and monitor insurance needs of the Church. Prepare budget in November for Budget Committee.
Investments Chair: Ron Marwood: Advisor: Sandy Wyman, Members: Barbara Pettus, Mary Scheurer,
Bill Woods
Selection and oversight of Church portfolio management. Schedule monthly meetings and prepare monthly reports to Vestry.
Buildings and Grounds
Chair: Doug Graham, Stephanie Delaporte
Oversight and maintenance of all church owned property. Responsible for reports to Vestry and preparation of annual Buildings and Grounds Budget to be given to Budget Committee in November.
Long Range Planning/Steering
Chair: Pamela Sheiffer, Barbara Callahan, Jennifer Marwood, Barbara Pettus
Monitors and proposes long-term goals, objectives, financial health of Church . Submits recommendations to Vestry at end of fiscal year.
Personnel
Chair: Jennifer Marwood, Nancy Connett
Oversight of all areas relating to church employees. Approves and reviews all employee contracts, monitoring currency. Reviews annual employee evaluations and makes recommendations and approves all salary increases.
ST. MARK'S CHURCH APPOINTED COMMITTEES
Christian Education
Chairs: Stephanie Zayicek, Karen Love, Jennifer Kast
Oversight of Sunday School and any special children's projects. Recruits and trains church school teachers. Responsible for reports to Vestry and preparation of annual budget for youth Christian Education given to Budget Committee in November.
Youth Group
Chair: In Formation
Oversee Youth Group; and plan and lead yearly programs. Submit annual budget to Budget Committee in November.
Communications and Publicity
Chair: Tom Hadlock
Responsible for public relations and marketing. Responsible for preparing annual Communications and Publicity Budget given to Budget Committee in November.
Membership/Newcomers
Chair:
Plan and lead annual new membership drives. Organize and run programs to initiate new members into the congregation and its activities.
Stewardship
Chairs: Barbara Pettus/Sandy Wyman , Fr. Ronald Wickey, Pamela Sheiffer
Organize and direct annual Stewardship Program.Complete pledges by November Vestry Meeting Fellowship Chair: Jean Scopinich Establish Social Calendar, plan special events, receptions, etc. Submit calendar of events for the ensuing year to the Vestry for approval in November. Submit fellowship budget to Budget Committee in November.
Coffee Hour
Chair: Edie Hofmann, Carol Fitton,
Responsible for organizing the weekly volunteers to host Sunday fellowship and maintain the necessary supplies required.
Mission/Outreach
Chair: Jean Scopinich, Leon Lewandowski, Ridgie Barnett
Responsible for preparing list of outreach programs to be considered by the Vestry for the ensuing year. Submit budget to Budget Committee in November.
Music
Chair: Fr. Ron Wickey, Ina Ferrara, Fran Graham
Oversight and direction of music and music programs. Submits budget to Budget Committee in November
